Turquoise- Stabilized
The most common treatment done to turquoise is to soak it in melted wax. The wax melts into the pores of the stone making it look more richer. The wax used in previous years were mostly colourless and the treatement was fairly stable. But nowadays, colourless oil or polymer plastic is used instead of wax. This polymer impregnated turquoise is called as -stabilized turquoise- in the trade.
